Smartphone buying Guide

Confused about smartphones?

Well there are numerous smartphones out there , people always get confused about which phone to get their hands on it. Alright let's get straight to it.
The first thing is all about money. If you can spend a lot of money, close your eyes and get the latest iPhone available. You won't be disappointed.
Or
If you're concerned about money , then there are three categories where each phone falls into one of them.
1. Low -end
2.Mid - range
3. High end or power packed phones

Low end phones
Usually low end phones have very low Hardware[HW] specs , and due to that these phones doesn't get any future upgrades . we're talking about android here. But still these phones perform well with all basic apps. But keep in mind these phones won't receive any updates , multitasking will be a headache, can't play graphic intensive games, can't take decent photos and etcetera. There are 'android one' phones out there, where these devices are promised to receive the latest update available even though their HW specs are low. If anyone wants to explore only about android os then they can get one but still it is not really a good choice to get one of those. The price range of low end phones we're talking here is under 8000rs. So unless if you're in a hurry , don't get a low end phone . Get a mid range phone in a discount price at the right time.

Mid range phones
These are the handsets which are used widely by the people around the world. But buying a mid range phone is a very difficult thing. Never ever look at the specs of a handset and buy it. Always do a little research by looking into YouTube. The price range of this category will be under 17k. So every midrange phone will have a unique specialty such as ,
1. Better camera
2. Display
3. Audio output
4. Battery capacity
5. Build quality
So in every mid range phone either one or two of these things will be of higher quality. There are many phones with 13mp sensor at the back and 5-8 mp sensor at the front. Megapixels isn't the only thing to be considered in a camera. Always look for aperture with 2.0 or less than that. The lower aperture allows the camera to absorb more light for brighter pictures and make sure a flash is present for low light photography. Next look at the display , if its a 720p or 1080p screen means its worth buying it and always ensure it is of gorilla glass display as it protects the display from cracking . Majority of the smartphones have a single speaker but if you're more concerned about the audio, then get a phone with dual speakers . Battery life of a smartphone is a very important factor to be considered among other things. Make sure the battery capacity is higher than 2500mah or higher . But even if the capacity is higher , the phone's operating system should be optimized in such a way that the phone still holds some juice till the end of the day. When it comes to build quality , mid range phones are usually made in plastic so we just have to get one and use it very safely. Bottom line get a premium brand's popular smart phone where many people uses it. In that way , the phone will have CM support ie CyanogenMod support. Many people doesn't know about CM but before going into that the person should have a little knowledge about rooting, flashing, boot loader , kernel etc. We'll post an article about them very soon. Believe me CyanogenMod is an interesting thing to be known. So deep down , always lay your hands on a popular mid range phone.

High end phones
When it comes to high end handsets its all about business. If you're willing to spend more money on a smartphone , don't go to any shops and ask the persons working there to tell us some things about the higher end handsets, believe me they'll confuse you and even say wrong details about the phone. Go to YouTube and check out some videos about reviewing, unboxing, and versus videos. So at the beginning we'll make a list of high end phones , and while comparing them each phone beats other one or performs better than others in different departments . Samsung always wins in camera and display departments. Followed by Sony, HTC and Motorola. When it comes to performance Motorola and HTC beats every other smartphone easily. The performance of these high end phones are affected by heavy theming and bloatware. This is why Samsung , lg and Sony smartphones lag while multitasking. The display will be either full HD or quad HD. The full HD phones have 1080p resolution and these high end phones easily handles it. But when it comes to quad HD phones they have 1440p resolution and they require a lot of power to push the pixels and the battery life will also be not good. My opinion would be to buy a nexus phone. They are far better than any other smartphones in the market. So guys I know you're confused , so we'll post an article every month regarding the best smartphone available. This post was completely written by me and its my choice of selecting a smartphone based on these things. Let me know what you guys think..

Android Lags ? Discover why..!

A smartphone is powered by a System-on-Chip (SoC). As the term says, an SoC contains the whole system on itself, on one platform.

All the necessary hardware is there like CPU, RAM, GPU, Modem, Signal Processor, etc. The CPU processes the application threads and the data being used by it is stored on the RAM.

I want to keep it simple for everybody to understand.
In layman terms, a phone lags when it is put to a task it can not handle. There are multiple threads being processed by a smartphone even when it is not being used by you and lying idle.
---
# If the CPU has to process multiple long threads, it lags as soon as things get beyond its processing capability. As and when it happens the SoC heats up and that further promotes lag and stutter because an overheated CPU is like an exhausted horse.

Not to forget, there is a GPU as well which is a processor which only deals with graphics and visuals which you see on the display, and the same principle applies to it as well but only in context of graphic processing.

And even if the CPU and GPU are good at computing everything which you throw at them, you need to have enough memory i.e. RAM to keep all those threads running.
-
MORAL- Your smartphone should be equipped well with good quality hardware to handle all tasks which you require to perform on it.
SoCs with smaller thermal footprint are more efficient. That is why newer SoCs are made using smaller nano-architecture because it helps in keeping the SoC from overheating while performing great on heavy gaming. For example- Snapdragon 805 is built using 28nm architecture whereas the upcoming 808 and 810 use 20nm technology to reduce thermal footprint and enhance efficiency.
---
# Many applications especially on Android OS keep running in the background and you can't kill them if you don't feel like using them at that moment. These include all the utility apps, Facebook, Maps, Youtube, Mail, Google+ and many other third-party apps as well.
The moment you kill them with a task killer, they re-appear. Killing such an application never helps, it only makes harder for the CPU as it has to re-work the thread.
-
MORAL- - Don't use a task killer for all-time running apps. Never use the auto-kill feature on a task killer. The CPU is programmed well to manage multiple apps.
---
# Now the question arises that why do smartphones start to lag as time passes. Its simple. As we are progressing in the Android ecosystem, the apps are getting heavier, more data-intensive, graphic-intensive with every update which requires more memory and processing power. As a result, the amount of free-RAM for a new heavy thread to be processed (like when you start a 3D game) keeps diminishing with time and keeping the same old CPU for heavier new apps shouldn't help.
-
MORAL - Only load your phone with apps which are essential to you if you are low on hardware terms. As we go ahead in time our smartphones go obsolete due to advancement in application softwares. Although some major enhancements in system softwares like Project Butter and replacing Dalvik Runtime with ART on Android helps a lot in achieving a lag-free experience.
---
Summing it up...
Both hardware and software advancements go hand in hand. Hardware has to be enhanced to cater to the needs of heavier and more-feature rich OS and apps. As far as the current scenario looks, the hardware seems to take the lead because its getting both cheaper and more advanced with time.
Three years ago, when I bought my first smartphone with a single-core processor and 512MB RAM for INR 16.7K, any other cheaper phone couldn't offer a lag-free experience due to one or other reason. And even my phone started lagging after a year even with essential pre-loaded apps.

But today, you get a phone for INR 6K which offers good lag-free performance on essential apps with a far more efficient Quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, Stock Android with 60fps transitions, no bloatware and prompt firmware updates.
And by this I don't mean to say that the new cheaper phone with better hardware will never lag or stutter but it will definitely take more time for it to be rendered as a brick.
With the coming of technologies like ARMv8 instruction set, tinier nano-architecture on chips, 64-bit SoCs and OS, ART, etc. the future seems bright and lag-free.
:-)

Phone slows down ? Boost it up..!

Hey everyone ,in this generation everybody has a android phone, but not everyone's phone is fast enough to handle tasks etc..
Some think my phone is very slow i dont know why ?

There are very few common things that every android user should know about phones.
-> Android phone's cant be infected by virus etc..

-> Android is linux based so it doesnt need antivirus. It protects itself automatically.
-> Your phone is slow and lagging everywhere becuase
* U might have CM security, avast or cleanmaster and other shit apps that always runin background and consumes Ram and Battery.

Next Big Thing is Battery.!!
Every phone can last a whole day with moderate usage..!(not gaming :-/ )
Andoird Doesn't need battery savers, logically speaking anything that runs on ur phone needs battery..! Think.! Battery savers are just visual presentation to your eyes, just
shows attractive graphical information about your battery, its just a useless crap that sucks your Ram and Battery..!
If you really want to conserve your battery, your android phone must have a inbuilt battery saver.

Settings-Battery-Check options there..!
Next Article is about getting the most performance and battery out of your Android Device..!

Moto G 3rd Gen. press images and specs listed on Swiss retailer site

motorola-moto-g-3rd-gen-black
We’re mere days from the official introduction of the third generation of the Moto G series, and the device is popping up around the web in increasingly revealing leaks.
Just a few hours ago, Swiss retailer Digitec put up a listing for the Moto G 3rd Gen., complete with high quality press images showing the black and white versions of the device. The listing, which has been pulled down since news of it broke on German website Giga.de, appears to confirm some of the specs that have been associated with the new Moto G over the past months.
The images confirm that Motorola is going for a slightly more upscale design, with a finely textured back and a metallic-looking insert down the middle of the phone’s back. Only the black and white versions were listed, though if @evleaks has it right, Motorola is about to expand the availability of the Moto Maker customization program to the Moto G.
The specs included in the listing are a 5-inch Full HD display, 2GB of RAM, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with an Adreno 405 GPU (likely a Snapdragon 610), Cat. 4G LTE, and 8GB of storage (expandable). Some of the listed specs could be placeholders, but they generally fit the bill for what we expect to be a solid mid-ranger with a killer price tag.

Here’s a first look at the OnePlus 2, courtesy of China’s TENAA

oneplus-2-tenaa
We are edging ever closer to the launch of the OnePlus 2, so perhaps we shouldn’t be so surprised to see the handset passing through China’s TENAA certification center.
The nice thing about TENAA is that it also gives us a look at the handset. From the images we can see the adoption of a new physical home button, which is presumably where the fingerprint scanner will be housed. Rather than opting for a rear scanner like Huawei has done in the past, a scanner located in the home button is something that we are used to seeing from the likes of Samsung.
On the back we can also spot the new camera module lower down the handset, which, if earlier reports are accurate, appears to feature a laser auto focus system just underneath the lens. LG’s G3 and G4 smartphones make use of laser technology to allow for much faster camera focusing for nearby objects.
side-view
Other confirmed OnePlus 2 specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, reversible USB Type-C connection and a 3300mAh battery, at a cost of under $450. The phone is also said to have a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The OnePlus 2 is expected to launch on July 27th, just five days away, and will be broadcast in virtual reality for those who own a little Google Cardboard or another VR headset. We should know all of the official details in just a few days’ time.

Galaxy Note 5 launch confirmed for August 13

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphones have leaked a lot over the past few weeks but unlike most smartphone launches, the rumours don’t seem to conflict too much. One thing that has been accepted as almost-fact is that the Samsung will defer away from its usual IFA release schedule to launch its new handsets early and get a jump on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 refresh.

We’ve previously heard that the Galaxy Note 5 could make its launch on August 12th with a release a few days later on August 21 and a new report from the Korean media has seemingly confirmed this, although suggests that the launch will take place on August 13 in New York City. The reason for the change? According to BusinessKorea,
It is believed that Samsung tries to not only check Apple, which threatens its number one position in global smartphone market share, but also capture consumers before the release of the iPhone 6S in Sept.

Facebook News Feed Preferences change to give you more control over what shows up

The News Feed is one of the most important parts of Facebook, so this is pretty big news. The social network has announced that it’s giving its users more ways to tweak what shows up in the News Feed.
This comes by way of a revamped News Feed Preferences menu, which launches on iOS today and will become available for Android and the Web “over the coming weeks”.
The new News Feed Preferences let you prioritize whose stuff you see first, easily unfollow people or reconnect with those you’ve previously unfollowed, and discover new pages. To make sure you don’t miss posts from specific friends and pages, you can prioritize them. Then, every time you launch Facebook, you’ll see the stuff they shared since you last visited the social network at the top of the News Feed, with a star attached (so you know why that’s there). If you scroll down, you’ll then get the rest of your News Feed normally.
“Discover New Pages” is basically just a collection of recommended pages that Facebook thinks you should like, based on the types of pages you’ve liked in the past. You’ve always been able to unfollow people from their profile, but now you can choose to do that from the new Unfollow menu in News Feed Preferences too, if you so wish. Presumably this should be more useful for bulk operations. You can also see who you’ve unfollowed in the past, and choose to re-follow them.
The new News Feed Preferences can be accessed in the iOS app by tapping on More in the bottom right corner, then going to Settings.

Asus ZenFone 2 can run Windows 7 in case you really need it to

The latest smartphone that can boot an OS it will likely never need is Asus ZenFone 2. A crafty XDA Developers member ported Microsoft Windows 7 to the Intel Atom-based smartphone.
The desktop OS was ported on the ZE551ML variant of the ZenFone 2. Windows 7 runs on the smartphone as an aSPICE KVM virtual machine.
The desktop OS runs a tad slow on the mobile device, but is still surprisingly usable. See it in action below.
As you have probably guessed by now, getting Windows 7 to run on your ZenFone 2 is not a casual exercise. You will need to root your device, keep its bootloader unlocked, as well as install a number of additional tools on it before you can even get started.

A large capacity microSD card is also recommended alongside a partitioner for it. The whole exercise is explained in detail at the source link below.

New Office 2016 for Mac now available for purchase

Microsoft has released the final version of Office 2016 for Mac. The company had released a preview back in March but now you can purchase the full version from Microsoft.
Office 2016 for Mac is a complete revamp of the old Office 2011. The new app brings the new UI design seen on the Windows and mobile versions of Office while harmonizing with the new design and features of OS X. It supports features like fullscreen mode, multi-touch gestures, and also has Retina assets for all the high resolution Macs.
Office 2016 for Mac comes with five applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. If you are an Office 365 user, you can just download it for free. If you are a student, you could get it for free or at a substantial discount. If you are a home user, you can get it for the same monthly or yearly subscription price as the Windows version or from your local retailer.

YouTube now lets you watch videos in up to 8K

After recently adding support for 5K resolution, YouTube will now let you watch videos uploaded in 8K resolution natively. That’s 7680 x 4320 pixels at 30fps.
Currently there’s just one video that supports this resolution, and that too is mostly shot using two RED Epic Dragon in 6K in portrait orientation and then stitched together in Adobe After Effects to form the final 8K video. Some of the scenes are shot at 6K in landscape and then upscaled and sharpened for the higher resolution.
Playing the 8K video will require a lot of horsepower on your computer. Even with a Core i5-3570 and NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti the video was fairly choppy and dropping frames for me in Chrome, although it does seem easier to run than the 4K 60fps videos that were announced previously.
Currently, there are only a handful of cameras that can natively shoot in 8K, such as the RED Weapon Dragon, and even that can only shoot 6K for now with 8K upgrade coming later this year. Of course, this is wholly pointless for most people who don’t even have a 4K display, not to mention there really aren’t any commercially available 8K monitors or TVs available to purchase today anyway. But if you manage to find one, you can load up the video below and see how it really looks.

Instagram web gets a redesign

Since the first time the website was introduced several years ago, Instagram has updated the design. The new design is extremely minimal, with a lot of white space and large, full-size images.
The new design gets rid of the grey textured background and the blue top bar, replacing it with a clean white everywhere. The top bar just has the Instagram logo, your account name and a logout button.
The images are now in full size, that is 640 x 640, with more space between them. You can click on an image to see the tagged people or double click to like it as before.
The profile page sees the biggest change, with a clean, spaced out profile description and larger grid of picture thumbnails. You can hover over the thumbnails to see the number of likes and comments on it.
The web design is really impressive. I just wished the company focused on other things, such as increasing the resolution of the images as 640×640 is just not enough these days. And maybe also updating that icon, which looks skeuomorphic and extremely dated now.

Sony XPERIA M4 Aqua only has 1.26GB of usable storage on 8GB variant

sony_m4_aqua_memory
If you were thinking of getting yourself a Sony XPERIA M4 Aqua, particularly the 8GB variant then it’s probably time to think again. Apparently the 8GB variant comes with just 1.26GB of free storage out of the box.
Around 5GB of space is taken up by Android 5.0 Lollipop itself and another 2GB is taken up by pre-installed apps. Of course you might be thinking, you could free up quite a lot of memory by uninstalling various unwanted apps. But the issue here is that you wont be able to uninstall many of them as they are set as default apps and at best you can just disable them. Then again it wouldn’t really help you free up memory either. Some apps like Facebook etc can be deleted and you can get around 1.7GB of free storage but even that is less in our opinion.
This was found to be true on an unlocked variant of a European M4 Aqua which should be carrying lesser bloatware than carrier locked smartphones. While users can still move apps to the SD card, it still does leave the apk and some data behind on the phone memory itself and with 1.26GB, we feel that users are bound to run out of memory pretty soon enough and it means that it would be mandatory to get a microSD card for your phone as well.

Meizu confirms m2 note launch for tomorrow, teases ‘Home button revolution’

meizu_m2_note_twitterteaser
Chinese manufacture Meizu is hosting an event in China tomorrow, where the company has now confirmed to launch the successor m2 note by posting an image on Twitter. The launch event will take place at the China National Convention Center on June 2nd at 2:30pm (12:00pm IST).
The firm is also teasing the device to feature a new kind of Home button and is calling it the ‘Home button revolution.’ The teaser image post on Meizu India’s Facebook page on Friday noted, “We are ready to bring you better experience of home button. #Meizu602”
meizu_m2_note_home_button_teaser_facebook
Alleged image of the anticipated Meizu m2 note in comparison with MX4 were leaked couple of weeks back. The device appeared very similar in size and design to the MX4, however the home button seen in the image had an oval shape instead of a rectangle with rounded corners. Just to remind you, the device was rumoured to feature a fingerprint scanner initially but then reports came out suggesting that Meizu executives have denied it, but actually it wasn’t the case because company didn’t comment anything.
On Friday, a blog reported some specifications of the Meizu m2 note from GFXBench listing, which was removed instantly. According to the report, the listing of  Meizu m2 note suggested that the device will feature a 4.6-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution, an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset, Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, a 12 megapixel camera with an LED flash (4K video recording capability), a 5-megapixel front camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop with Flyme UI and dual-SIM with 4G LTE connectivity.

Qualcomm Snapragon 810-powered Project Tango smartphone coming in Q3 2015

Qualcomm Project Tango
At the Google I/O 2015 yesterday, Google announced its partnership with Qualcomm for its next generation Project Tango smartphone development platform. Project Tango combines the camera, gyroscope, and accelerometer to estimate six degree of freedom motion tracking, providing developers the ability to track 3D motion of a device while simultaneously creating a map of the environment. We still don’t have the complete specifications of the smartphone.
The processor supports hardware tessellation, geometry shaders and programmable blending, as well as advanced GPU security for secure composition and management of premium video and other multimedia. dual 14-bit Image Signal Processors (ISP) with fast autofocus, depth sensing, and advanced imaging software that helps enable advanced camera features particularly in low light environments.
Qualcomm-powered Tango smartphone will let you access Qualcomm Hexagon DSP via the Hexagon SDK as well as the Qualcomm Vuforia mobile vision platform, said the company. Google’s Project Tango tablet powered by Nvidia Tegra K1 processor that was introduced last year went on sale without invitation for all at US$512.
The Project Tango smartphone developer platform will be available for purchase sometime in Q3 2015, but still no details about the price. You can register your interest on the Qualcomm developer’s websiteto get notified once it is available.

Diving into M: Multi-window option can be enabled with some work!

multi-window
Back in March we first reported on how multi-window functionality had been discovered in an Android code commit. While many custom ROMs and OEM skins have had multi-window capabilities for a while, stock Android fans have been long been waiting for such a feature. The good news is that Android M does in fact carry such a function!
Before you get too excited, there’s some bad news, too. First, this is an EXTREMELY early, experimental function. It’s so experimental that you can’t just turn it on in developer options, you first have to edit your build.prop to change user type to “userdebug” before the feature even shows up in dev options.
multi-window-2
As you can see in the screenshots at the top of the page, the multi-window mode gives you the power to show two windows side-by-side. You control this functionality through the recent menu by clicking on a new icon that shows up to the left of the (X). Once you do that, you’ll be asked to select the task’s layout. Although the feature seems a bit clunky, it works just fine as far as I can tell and I’ve had no problems with crashing or other issues while playing around with it. I’m currently testing this on a Nexus 5 though, and so it’s a bit cramped, but obviously such a feature is a much better fit for tablets or big-screen phones.
Multi-window is certainly one of the things we’ve long been asking for, but considering the hoops that must be crossed to turn this on, we wouldn’t bet on this coming to Android M as a stable (non-dev) feature. Then again, you never know. What do you think of Android M’s new multi-window function? Let me know in the comments.

Diving into M: Android M lets you move apps to microSD thanks to “adoptable” storage

Google is famously uninterested in giving proper support for microSD, but it looks like the Android team is having a slight change of heart.
One of the many new features that Google didn’t really advertise about Android M yesterday is Adoptable Storage Devices. Adoptable basically means that Android M can “adopt” an external storage device like a microSD card and format and encrypt it so it acts like the device’s internal storage. It looks like Google no longer sees microSD as for storing media only; with adoptable storage, you will be able to move apps and their data to microSD or other external storage devices. The caveat is you won’t be able to use an adopted card on other devices, because of the encryption. But that’s a small sacrifice given the benefits.
The ability to move apps between internal and external storage is a feature that many OEMs added to their devices years ago. Now Google is building it into stock Android, despite the fact that there are no Nexus devices with microSD ports. This is another Android M feature that has been popularized by OEMs and that Google now includes into stock Android, withfingerprint sensor support, themes, customizable quick settings tiles, being other examples. It remains to be seen whether this is a sign of something bigger (from the Nexus line, only the original Nexus One supported microSD) or just a fluke.
Besides adoptable storage, a related improvement is better support for OTG USB. Now when you connect a USB OTG flash drive, a popup will let you browse the contents immediately, without having to use a file explorer.

Android M rumored to bring dedicated app permission controls

The next major iteration of Android will reportedly bring dedicated permission controls to users. Android M is expected to debut tomorrow during Google I/O in San Francisco.
Currently, Android prompts users to accept all permissions an application requires before installing it. In Android M, permission controls will reportedly be accessed and modified within the app, or by going to the device’s settings menu.
There is no word on how will an application behave with denied permissions. We reckon that members of the Android team at Google will elaborate on the subject tomorrow.
In addition to bringing app permission controls to users, Android M is also rumored to focus on optimizing RAM and battery performance. A dedicated update support cycle for devices is also expected with the new OS release.

Motorola is apparently readying two QHD flagships

Get Ready Rich People/.!!!!!!!
motorola_1440p_leak_1
Apparently, Motorola is working on two new devices and both the devices are equipped with QHD screen ie a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The devices are currently being tested under the Verizon network in USA.
The first device with model number XT1578 (Verizon) and XT1097 (Retus) is codenamed Clark and apparently Motorola is recycling the model numbers of old phones such as the Moto X 2nd Gen to keep the details from leaking into the public. Clark has a 5.25″ display with QHD resolution and will be powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor. That means the device has a pizel density of 560 ppi.

The second device with model number XT1585 (Verizon) is codenamed Kinzie. It also has a QHD resolution but a much smaller screen size of 4.6″ which means its pixel density is a whopping 640 ppi which has never before been launched on a phone. It is definitely unnecessary for a display that is that small. The device will be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset.
Both the devices are currently running on Android 5.1.1 during testing but may get a newer version based on when they actually do get launched. Not much else is known about the two devices but we will keep you updated.

OnePlus is planning to “shake up the tech industry” on June 1

Once again, OnePlus is teasing something via its official Twitter account. This time it looks like we’re going to see a new announcement from the Chinese company on June 1, which is next Monday.
Obviously no big clues as to what that will be are given, but as you can see from the accompanying image OnePlus is talking the big talk.
So whatever happens on June 1, expect the tech industry to be shaken up about it. The teaser does imply something about OnePlus going back to the drawing board, so to speak, so this might be something related to its next smartphone. Perhaps we’ll hear the first detail(s) about it on Monday.
Then again, keep in mind that OnePlus likes to release such teasers quite a lot, sometimes for new accessories, other times just for a change in its sales method. On the other hand, the OnePlus 2 is going to arrive in Q3. The beginning of that quarter is on July 1, so an announcement in June wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Hang tight and we’ll see what happens.

New Opera Max version will save you from crowded hotspots, battery hogs

Opera’s headlining trick – compressing the web – is evolving in the time of high-powered smartphones. Opera Max enables a Turbo-like compression for any and all apps on your phone, not just the browser. And now not just mobile data either, Max can now handle your Wi-Fi usage.
“Why?” you may be asking. Simple – public Wi-Fi hotspots often suck worse than mobile data. Also, this allows Opera Max to improve your battery life too.
The new version of the app can take over Wi-Fi communication and channel it through Opera’s compression servers, just like it does for mobile data. This can be disabled if you like, but crowded hotspots at cafes and airports may make you reconsider.
Being in charge of all Internet connection lets Opera Max selectively block apps. You can allow apps to use mobile data, just Wi-Fi data or none at all. This way you can stop apps that keep draining your battery with constant Internet connections in the background.
If you haven’t already you can download Opera Max from the Play Store. Check out this article if you have any questions about the setup.
